Natural Weight Loss
By Tony Capolino

Natural weight loss means lowering your daily calorific intake while increasing the amount of calories you burn through exercise; most people choose to ignore this advice. This advice should be easy to comprehend – at least you would think it was; however, currently 35 percent of Americans are unable to prevent being overweight! The conflicting aspect is that a large percentage of overweight people are desperately trying to lose those pounds whether it is because they are tired of the looks they receive or for health reasons.

The strange thing is though that it is so much easier to stay trim than it is to lose weight because as soon as you start putting on weight, many things become more difficult. Subconsciously we all know that if we do not maintain a healthy food program for ourselves, we will start to add extra pounds. Health experts say that most people who are into losing weight usually stray and tend to go back to their old eating and non-exercising habits even after they learn to enjoy low-fat eating. It is not actually difficult controlling your weight using natural weight loss methods and reasons not to put on extra weigt are many although not all revolve around health and beauty.

The importance of maintaining the correct weight is more than just for looks especially as the number of health problems related to weight and obesity grows. If you think about it, losing excess weight by natural methods is the most acceptable way to get rid of those extra pounds but too many people want a ‘quick fix’ system.

Healthy eating on a natural weight loss program means learning to eat the right foods such as complex carbohydrates, those high in fiber, low in fat and a little protein. A meal containing this group would be something like a baked potato, vegetables and some meat, lean of course but it would not contain gravy or sour cream.

Health experts say that dietary fat promotes weight gain because it is a very dense source of calories and you store those calories as body fat easier than calories from other sources. Despite the number of either low fat or zero fat foods on the market, it’s a surprise that the American people continue to put on weight, but there is a very good reason for this.

One of the greatest delusions of the 1990s was that no fat meant non- fattening but the truth is you are often getting just as many calories from these foods; the calories are just not coming from fat. If you really want to lose weight through a program you will need to dump the fat free products and eat small healthy snacks that are high in nutrition. Schools of thought differ on this subject but many nutritionists agree that eating smaller meals with a snack every 3 to four hours or between meals could be beneficial providing main meals are not missed. The secret to natural weight loss is easy if you just obey it; do not eat more than your body requires through normal activities and exercise.

10 Reasons To Lose Weight & Improve Your Weight Loss

10 Reasons to Lose Weight & Improve Your Weight Loss
By Mac Brigg

There are many reasons why someone wants to lose weight and in general it is an entirely personal thing. The list below gives the more common reasons, but if yours aren’t listed here make sure you write them down because they can be used as clearly identifiable goals to help with your committment and motivation.

1. To Improve your Health

This is the single-most important reason to lose weight and in fact is the most common motivation behind a person’s decision to do so. It isn’t as easy as it sounds though – just as with someone that is struggling to stop smoking or drinking too much, the health benefits can sometimes take a back seat to the addiction. It takes a brave individual to stand up and face the fact that if they don’t lose weight, they’ll be more likely to suffer from high blood pressure, type II diabetes, high cholesterol and heart disease. Scary stuff indeed.

2. To Improve your Fitness

Of course this is linked to the above, but some people use it as a motivation in itself. It is embarassing to be breathless and sweaty after simply walking up a flight of stairs, or perhaps even to find yourself struggling for breath walking normally.

By losing weight you will have less excess weight to carry around and, if done properly, you’ll be healthier and fitter.

3. Having More Energy

Carrying around a lot of excess weight is a tiring business! Not only that, but if you’re overweight the chances are that you tend to eat stodgy, unhealthy foods that make you tired rather than raring to go. Many people are astounded by how much more energy they have once they have lost weight: they find their quality of work improves, they are able to play with their kids for longer, and they’re able to go out more without fear of being lethargic. These improvements therefore not only benefit the person who has lost weight, but also benefits those around them.

4. Fitting into Clothes

Many overweight people live in denial about what size clothes they should wear. It’s understandable: by accepting that you’re a size 18 or even a 20, you’re admitting to yourself that you’re fat and you have a problem. So a lot of people go around wearing ill-fitting clothes that are extremely uncomfortable (try eating a big meal in a pair of jeans that cut into your waist!).

By losing weight, you no longer have to pretend that you’re a size smaller than you actually are! Imagine what that can do for your confidence.

5. Buying the Clothes you Like ….

This should have been titled ‘Buying the clothes you like, not what you can fit into’. Many clothes shops (particularly those selling the current trends) don’t cater for the larger lady or gentleman and, as such, a fat person’s choices are limited. It’s not nice buying an item of clothing that you wouldn’t ordinarily buy if you were thin ….

It’s not only a matter of what clothes you can fit into – the whole shopping experience for many a fat person is not a pleasant one. You have to try on clothes that you know you don’t look great in, because no matter what you wear, you still look fat. And your choice of clothing (unless you’re happy with your weight) is likely to be something that covers you up and helps you blend in with the crowd.

By losing the weight, you can go into any clothes shop and buy any item of clothing that takes your fancy – what a great motivation that is!

6. Improved Confidence

If you’re fat and happy, that’s great. But if you’re fat and unhappy, you’re likely to be unconfident and self-conscious. Being fat is not acceptable in our society and whilst no one should worry about what anyone else thinks, nor give in to the demands of what is considered ‘attractive’, unfortunately fat people are often looked down upon. So if you’re conscious of what other people think of you, you’re not going to enjoy being fat. Fat people are often considered less trust-worthy (if they can’t even look after themselves, how can they be trusted), lazy, devoid of willpower and – dare I say it – unattractive.

All of these (and more) serve to make a fat person unconfident and this can affect them in all walks of life. Whilst no one should lose weight in order to please other people, improved confidence is a very common reason for losing weight. Imagine being free of the burden of self-doubt by losing weight – that is life-changing.

7. Looking Forward to Social Events

By losing weight, imagine how you’ll feel next time you’re invited to a big social event. You won’t have the dread, the self-consciousness, and the embarassment of being fat. Instead you can look forward to receiving lots of compliments!

8. Mental Health

Being unhappy with your weight is quite a burden, not least for all the reasons mentioned above. Your weight is a constant stress and you may even feel guilty that you’re punishing your body for your inability to control your food intake.

By losing weight, you are likely to become more self-confident and you can be proud of yourself knowing that you’re not eating your way into an early grave. How’s that for motivation!

9. Better Sex

Whether single or in a long-term relationship, people often say that their sex lives improved once they lost weight. Whether being lighter and fitter simply makes you feel more active and adventurous, or whether relieving yourself of the burden of feeling unattractive and self-conscious is the cause, it’s certainly a great motivation to lose those pounds!

10. Looking Forward to Summer

It’s summer and it’s hot and that means two things: firstly, you have to wear fewer clothes and thus expose yourself more. Imagine the stress that this causes a fat person – you don’t want to wear shorts because you don’t want people to see your fat legs; you don’t want to wear a sleeveless top because you don’t want people to see your fat arms, but where does this leave you? You can’t cover up too much, because then you’re making a clear statement that you’re fat and don’t want to be seen.

Secondly, the heat makes a fat person hotter and more uncomfortable than a slimmer person – fat provides a great insulation material! This means spending the summer uncomfortable and it isn’t pleasant.

Now we get on to the subject of holidays – oh what a nightmare that is for a fat person. If you go somewhere even hotter than you’re used to, the above problems are exacerbated. And then you need to consider how you’re going to cope with wearing a swimsuit / pair of trunks …. no further explanation needed!

So lose that weight and you won’t need to dread summer – simple as that!

3 Suggestions to Help You With Weight Loss

3 Suggestions to Help You With Weight Loss
By Mary Anne Bachia

There are many steps to working with people who want to improve their health through their diet and nutrition.

The first 3 foods, most people have difficulty assimilating and many have allergies to are:

Sugar

Dairy

Wheat

These 3 foods are most prone to trigger allergies, mucus draining, digestive disturbance, fatigue. People have difficulty digesting cow milk, wheat is usually a processed grain, and processed food takes more energy or yang to digest, and sugar creates irritation in the liver.

Foods to Avoid

Coffee

Alcohol

Chocolate

Ice cold foods, including salads

Spicy hot foods including garlic and chili

Coffee, alcohol and chocolate all create toxins and irritate the liver.

The stomach lining is more like a delicate plant than an iron combustion chamber. Think of it like a flower. Too much cold or hot water will kill a flower. The stomach creates the delicate process of absorbing and breaking down nutrients. Excess of spicy or cold foods can de-sensitize it making it harder to function in a balanced way.

Water

The body is made of 93% or 98% water. Water is transportation in and out of the cells with electrolytes. Electrolytes are chemicals with in the body, which have an electrical charge. This charge creates movement. Movement increases transportation of nutrients and waste into and out of cells thru the membrane of the cell. Electrolytes enhance this activity and so provide more effective flushing of waste particles and better absorption of nutrients. Drinking water that is enhanced with electrolytes enhance this activity.

Why Home Delivered Diets are the Talk of the Town This Century

September 29, 2010 by Online Diet Zone · 2 Comments

The hectic times of today’s age mean everyone is on the go. People just do not have time to pay a visit to their favorite restaurant, or to prepare nutritious meals for themselves. Time is of the essence in the 21st Century and this is exactly why people are doing something about it. Today is the dawn of home delivered diets,  something peculiar but extremely familiar, something efficient but downright silly. Home delivered diets are becoming a fad nowadays, so lets take a few steps away and try to determine why these home delivered diets are suddenly becoming so popular.

First of all, let us take into consideration that these home diets are absolutely delicious. A team of gourmet chefs pay their own sweat and blood to plan menus together by whipping up their freshest, most scrumptious ingredients, and preparing them in a way you see in movies. They make sure that their presentation is first class, and the taste? Top-notch. Without this component of delectability, these companies would have never been successful in the first place. Whether you’re a blood thirsty carnivore with a knack for steaks, or a gentle foliage-eating herbivore, special home delivered diets always have something for you.

The second in our reasons of why fireworks go off whenever a discussion of home delivered diets take place is because of the meals very high nutritional content. Nutritionists along with physicians meticulously meddle, experiment, and manipulate your food to create quality foods that will contribute to your health. With home delivered diets, you can be rest assured that excess fat and cholesterol will never make their way into your plate again. Those who want to lose weight can have low-calorie or low-carb meals prepared for them. These special home delivered diets are thoroughly researched and discussed by a team of experts, so you can devour anything on that plate without that stomach-clenching fear of gaining weight tomorrow.

Last and most importantly, home delivered diets are popular because, well, they are home delivered. Folks who have no time to shop for groceries or cook their own meals are usually the first one to dial for home delivered diets. Also, those with special needs who can’t cook for themselves but need a healthy diet are potential customers for a home delivered diet. Its fast and hassle-free like a microwavable meal, but even tastier and more nutritious!

Home delivered diets are the new pizza nowadays. They’re incredibly delicious and you can get them delivered – but instead of having fat cells multiply in your stomach lining, you’ll get a better body with a better health to boot!

Increasing Your Metabolism

Increasing Your Metabolism
By Daniel Birch

Today I wanted to share with you some ways you can increase your metabolic rate. Your metabolism basically is the rate at which your body uses ‘energy’. If you have a higher metabolism or ‘metabolic rate’ then ‘Billy Bob’ for example, it means your body uses more energy then Billy Bob’s to maintain itself.

Having a super duper fast metabolism is one of the main factors which can determine how successful your weight loss journey is. We want for you to create a body which is ‘high maintenance’ – in other words, a body which burns through a LOT of energy every single day. How do we do that? I’ll show you…

There are a number of factors which will contribute towards a speedy metabolism. I’ve outlined them in detail below…

Eat Often

It is important to eat something every 2-3 hours of your waking day. Our entire digestive system has been designed to digest smaller portions on a regular basis.

Most of us these days have 2-3 times each day when we cram food down our throats and we pack as much in as possible. C’mon, you know it’s true. When we do this we feel ‘stuffed’, lethargic and it bogs down our digestive system which slows down digestions and can also cause indigestion and reflux. Not a good sign. When we work ‘with’ our body instead of against it you’ll be healthier, happier and slimmer. Eat something every 2-3 hrs!:)

Eat Breakfast

Do you eat breakfast? How many times a week would you say you eat breakfast? Eating breakfast is important.

You have just been sleeping, your digestive system has been without any food to process for 8, 10 even 12 hours! You need some food at this point, even if you don’t feel like it. “But Daniel – I can’t eat breakfast, it makes me sick.” That is an example of what I like to call an ‘EXCUSE’. However, I understand that for many of you that don’t eat breakfast, getting into the habit can be hard. Here is a tip for you…eat something, regardless of how small it is. It might be one square of a salada biscuit, or a smalll stick of celery, I don’t mind too much what you have, but have something. This will quite often be enough to get your metabolism started for the day but not too much as to make you sick. If you don’t have breakfast, your metabolism isn’t in full swing until hours later. Therefore, having something just to get it started is a great idea. Once you have tried this a few times you’ll start to notice that you start and feel hungry in the morning and then my friends, you have just formed a new habit.:)

Regular Exercise & Workouts

I’m sure this isn’t news to you but exercise is vital to weight loss. Nutrition sets the scene for successful weight loss and exercise takes advantage of it.

This is how I have come to look at it. You’ll want to exercise at least 4-5 days per week but ideally 6-7 days per week. Each time you workout it should be for between 20-60 minutes per day, although this depends on the type of activity you are doing and the intensity. There is no substantial evidence to suggest that you need to have rest days in your workout schedule. This of course is a little different for an Olympic athlete for example, but for all our intents and purposes and with the focus of burning body fat, “Days Off” are not necessary for most people.

Keep Active

Hmm, the hard and exhausting stairs or the peaceful and easy elevator? Let’s try again…

The lazy people elevator or the active people stairs? I’m talking about mindset. Think of yourself as an active person and look for ways to keep active in your daily life. Don’t just go for the easiest option. And please don’t sit in your car stalking people at the shopping centre as they walk to their cars, just so you can get a park right near the door!! Take the opportunity to park further away and walk to the door, your waistline and your wellbeing with thank you for it.:)

Eat Before Bed Time

Eating something light before bed can be a great metabolism BOOSTER!

This will help to keep your digestive system ticking away while you sleep and you’re likely to find that when you wake up you actually feel hungry – great for those who struggle to eat breakfast. PS: Your digestive system doesn’t stop when you sleep, it slows down but it certainly does not stop. Ok guys, I’ve spilled my guts today so I’d better stop as I can feel the keyboard keys melting!
